Breguet Classique Complications – 1801BR/12/2W6
Breguet 1801 is a rare and historically significant timepiece, created in 2001 to commemorate the bicentennial of Abraham-Louis Breguet’s invention of the tourbillon. Crafted as a limited edition of just 28 pieces, this wristwatch embodies the essence of Breguet’s legacy in both design and mechanical ingenuity. Housed in an 18K rose gold half-hunter case with a coin-edged band, the watch features a hinged guilloché cover that opens to reveal a white enamel dial. At the base of the dial, the years “1801” and “2001” are engraved on either side of a three-arm tourbillon carriage, which rotates once per minute and serves as both a technical marvel and a visual centerpiece. The dial also bears Breguet’s secret signature at 6 o’clock, a subtle nod to the brand’s historic anti-counterfeiting measures. Inside, the watch is powered by the manual-winding caliber 557, a finely engraved nickel lever movement with 21 jewels and a one-minute tourbillon.
