IWC Portugieser Chronograph Rattrapante IW3712 is a rare and refined timepiece that combines classical elegance with mechanical complexity, distinguished by its split-seconds chronograph function and timeless design. This IW3712 features a 40.9 mm stainless steel case with a white dial adorned by gold Arabic numerals and slender feuille hands, offering superb legibility and vintage charm. The dial layout is symmetrical and purposeful, with a 30-minute chronograph counter at 12 o’clock, a small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock, and the inscription “Chronograph Rattrapante” on the left side—highlighting its split-seconds complication, a rare feature that allows the timing of two separate events simultaneously. Powering the watch is the IWC Caliber 76240, a manually wound movement based on a Valjoux architecture, enhanced with a rattrapante module.
