Patek Philippe Reference 3580 , nicknamed the "UFO" or "Jumbo Ellipse" by collectors due to its distinctive futuristic design language. This watch is celebrated as the only stainless steel, back-wound mechanical timepiece ever produced in Patek Philippe’s history. It features a perfectly symmetrical 35mm by 40mm oval cushion-shaped case completely devoid of a traditional crown guard or lateral winding stem on the flank, which was a deliberate design choice meant to mimic the sleek appearance of then-emerging electronic battery-operated watches. Its minimalist sunburst metallic blue dial features matching white gold baton hour markers, simple stick hands, and a central sweep seconds hand. The watch is powered by the innovative self-winding Calibre 350 movement, which positions the winding and time-setting crown directly on the caseback and utilizes a unique peripheral rotor system.
